It may be tempting to think that a garage door repair is just that—a repair of your garage door itself and nothing else. But, in fact, garage door repair encompasses a great number of different elements of the door. Some of these things may be untouched—and therefore not in need of repair—while others may be fully damaged or improperly put together in a way that is stressing other parts of your garage door.
Some parts of your door that might need repair are:
- The Frame – The garage door frame makes sure that the track for your door is attached to your home. If this frame is damaged or doesn’t fit well, it can throw off your whole system.
- The Track – This is the part that allows your door to open and close. If there are any imperfections in the track, it can result in less-than-smooth openings and closings.
- The Motor – This powers the whole system. If it is malfunctioning, it can cause your door to be jerky or loud.
- The Springs – These tie everything together, making sure that things can move smoothly and efficiently. If the springs fail, your whole door can cease to function properly.
These parts, although listed separately here, are also interdependent on one another, meaning that if one part is failing, it can strain other parts of the system and cause those parts to fail as well.
