It’s always best to be prepared for any kind of work done on your home, including garage door installation. In order to help you prepare yourself and your home for a new garage door, we’ve put together a few of the key steps to prepare for us to install your new garage door.

Garage Door Installation Prep 101

  • Clear the area. You don’t want anything in the way during your garage door installation, so make sure your vehicles and anything you have stored in your garage are somewhere else. If you have a two-car garage with two separate garage doors and only plan on replacing one of them, it’s still a good idea to keep the entire garage clear just in case there are any debris or materials from the installation that will need to take up space in the garage.
  • Decide where you want the console. Most people prefer to have their garage door console right next to the door they enter and exit the garage through, but put some thought into where you want it to go. Making the decision ahead of time will prevent you from making a spur-of-the-moment decision that you may regret later.
  • Ask your technician any questions you have. Whether this is your first garage door installation or not, you’ll want to make sure you understand the process completely and ask your technician any questions you have before they arrive. However, if questions come to mind during the installation process, we’ll be happy to answer them for you.
